Our Philosophy

At Martindale Real Estate Media, we believe in creating natural-looking media that is well composed. Too often we see images that make a potential client question the authenticity of the images.

Natural is the byword
Investing in Technology

At Martindale we invest in leading-edge cameras, drones, and videography equipment to meet the increasing demands of the real estate marketplace. This means 4K video; high dynamic range cameras; and the best possible editing tools.

Sometimes we can't explain why an image appeals to us. The secret is often in the composition. Leading lines draw the eye to an object; while a single point composition encourages the viewer to take in the entire scene. The height and angle of the camera are also critical. If you point a camera downward, vertical lines seem to lean towards you. If you have a camera low to the floor, the floor will seems to grown in size compared to elements such as the ceiling.

Composition is key

Color exists on a spectrum that is crucial to understand. We generally perceive light to be "warm" on the low end of the spectrum (2700K) and "cool" on the high end (6500K). Real estate media often contends with a simultaneous mixture of warm light, such as incandescent bulbs, and cool light from sunlit windows. Your customers want to see the actual colors of the properties they are viewing. The editing process involves correcting for color casts created by mixed lighting to create imagery that gives an accurate representation of the colors they will perceive in-person.

Color Science
